This past weekend, we took all the kids to several of the resorts and could not miss out on letting them experience this wonderland as well!
When you first get to the resort, make sure you go through the doors downstairs by the lobby (this is key, I know many who resort hop for the day and miss this entirely because they enter through the monorail entrance upstairs). This is the best way to get the full experience.
When you first get there, on select days in the outside check in area, they have cast members roasting chestnuts over an open fire! This is entirely complimentary to every person who walks by!
The kids were all excited to try these!
Seth and I were the only ones who liked them. They taste similar to a potato or sweet potato. If they had butter and cinnamon they would be amazing we all decided though. They were very hot and steamed when you open them. No matter if everyone liked them, it was a special experience to try them!
The many poinsettias outside are gorgeous!
When you first walk inside, the first thing you usually notice is the gorgeous enormous Christmas tree! I mean, that tree is massive!!

They have a great spot set up for Christmas Card perfect photos! Another guest was kind enough to take the picture so all 6 of us could be in one! A rare treat for us! Disney guests truly are the kindest people!
Very close to the tree is a grand piano with a cast member in a tuxedo playing beautiful Christmas carols! Guests are often heard singing along!
Upstairs there is an orchestra playing Christmas carols as well. The sounds are just divine!
On the back side of the lobby you will find the show stopper, The Grand Floridian Gingerbread House! If you see nothing else at the Disney Resorts at Christmas time, this is the thing to see! They assemble a giant gingerbread house that acts as a retail store to sell delicious treats!!!

We let each kid pick a treat! Lillie and Chloe both got a gingerbread man shaped cookie that had a hint of gingerbread spices in it, which was perfect for them! Gingerbread can be too spicy for a lot of kids, so I was especially thankful for that option for them. Tyler got a giant chocolate chip cookie.
Seth and I both chose Mickey Mouse shaped gingerbread cookies that had the ears dipped in a dark chocolate. I have to say, this was some of the best gingerbread I have ever happened! (I am hoping to get another New Years Eve if still available!) It was not overly spicy and the texture was perfectly soft and chewy! Absolutely delicious! Seth was very pleased too! I wish I had a picture of his face covered in chocolate and gingerbread crumbs after!
Don't forget to stroll around all the shops in the resort and check out the stunning window displays!!!
