T-Rex cafe at Disney springs

For my daughter's birthday, I let her pick somewhere special she would like to go have dinner with our family.  I was actually surprised when she picked the T-Rex Cafe in Disney Springs.  She had never really been into dinosaurs, but she always thought it looked cool and had a ton of her friends say it was (she turned 12!).  We all were pleasantly surprised at how fun this restaurant is, truly for ALL AGES!

One of the things all the kids loved, is while you are waiting (or after your meal) you can play in their fossil dig yard!  Basically, it is a giant sand box with a ton of "dinosaur bones" and all the tools necessary for your little paleontologist!!

When you walk into the restaurant, you are greeted by the giant T-Rex!  All the kids squealed with delight when he roared!  It was pretty amazing!  LOL

The gift shop is right there as well, which has a pretty amazing solar system on the ceiling.

All over the entire restaurant there are a ton of robotic dinosaurs that seem real!  Some of the kids were great at naming them, I however, am not great at it.  LOL.

There are several different themed rooms within the restaurant!    Here are some pictures of the sea themed room!  I totally want those jellyfish in my house!  Anyone else??

We personally requested to sit in the Ice Cave Room because we thought it looked the coolest!   The whole room is made to look like your eating in a cave during the ice age!   (Little tip, BRING A JACKET!  The Ice Cave is FREEZING!!!!!!)   Every time a meteor storm goes off, you can hear the storm and the whole room changes to different colors!  As you can see in the pictures below, this brought on a ton of silliness and laughter!

One of our girls, Chloe, thought she could control the meteor shower!   She had us crying from laughing so hard as you can see in this video.   Look how her facial expressions match the color!   LOL.  This is what making those memories is all about Pixie Dust Pals!

I have to be honest, I wasn't expecting a lot from the food because I felt like this was a themed restaurant and sometimes you go to those for the experience more than the food!  Well, again, I was pleasantly surprised!  The food was all excellent!   Click HERE to view their full menu. If you are using the Disney Dining Plan, this does count as one table service credit.  If you are paying for it yourself, the portions are fairly large, so you can easily share.

Jeremy and I started off with their French Onion soup.  This was amazing. The entire bowl had swiss cheese melted on the top!

Jeremy and I shared the Mastadon Stuffed Chicken and we will absolutely get this again!  It was chicken stuffed with artichoke hearts, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, and lemon butter.  Served with red skinned mashed potatoes and seasonal mashed potatoes.   So delicious!!!

The kids menu had kid friendly foods!  Our kids chose cheese pizza and corn dog nuggets and nobody had any complaints (and we have some picky eaters in our bunch!)

At the end, Lillie our birthday girl, got her bit of Disney magic and all the staff brought her a yummy vanilla birthday cupcake and sang to her!  She felt so special!

THE GREAT MOUSE EAR SEARCH: Faffybelle Creations

It is time for another GREAT MOUSE EAR SEARCH!!!!   I found Faffybelle Creations on her Etsy Store and thought so many of her ears were just the cutest!  She uses some fabrics I had not seen which I loved because there can be a lot of copies and repeats when it comes to Mouse Ears and I love to find designs that are different and original!  She has designs for all ages (My tween daughter as seen above loves the DOD 2 Ears which would be perfect for Halloween time!)  She can also do custom made orders!   Seen below, you can see a pair of custom Pixie Dust Required Ears she made for me and the blog!  I love how even the back of them are pretty!!!
On a side note, can I just brag at how gorgeous my model and daughter is?
Kathleen, the head artist is very sweet and compassionate too!   So I know she carries what Disney is all about, which is always important to me in finding my artists!

HOW DID YOU GET INTO MAKING MOUSE EARS?
My family and I go to the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot every year. In 2015 I had the idea to make all the girls (my sisters and mom) ears. They came out so good my family encouraged me to sell them and Faffybelle Creations was born.

DO YOU HAND MAKE EVERYTHING?
All the ears, hair bows and bow ties are handmade, and most of the headbands are covered by hand. I have wonderful suppliers for fabric and decorations. Some of the decorations like my Bruce inspired ears where Bruce's head is on one ear and his tail on the other; I hand drew and cut out myself! Each tiny tooth was cut by hand, a labor of love that one!

WHAT IS YOUR MOST POPULAR SELLING ITEM?
For a while it was my Giraffe Ears, then my Day of the Dead Ears and now it's Snow White and Belle. It varies!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ITEM TO MAKE AND WHY?
My favorite are the Snow White Ears. I absolutely love the design and the sparkle to them! They also take a bit of time to make so a lot of love goes into them!

HOW OFTEN DO YOU COME UP WITH NEW DESIGNS?
I have a book of designs I've drawn. I say I sketch about 3 designs weekly. And I always have new ones coming out from custom orders.

DO YOU HAVE ANY FUN OR TOUCHING CUSTOMER STORIES YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH US?
I have a customer who is now a good friend in Germany. If I had stock I'm sure she'd have some shares. She's been a wonderful customer and awesome to talk with. It's great that a friendship has grown from my business.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU GET TO GO TO DISNEY?
I go to Disney at least once a year. We are an annual pass family and love to vacation at Disney. We will do a one week trip yearly and if we are able to, a weekend trip here and there!

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU HAVE TO DO EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU VISIT DISNEY?

I have to ride Peter Pan! It's my favorite movie and ride! I love the idea of always keeping your inner child close at heart!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DISNEY MEMORY EVER?
My favorite memory was visiting Disney one on one with my mom before I got married. I didn't do a big bachelorette hoorah, I asked my mom to share a trip to Disney with me, by ourselves. It remains my favorite memory, you appreciate your parents so much more when you're an adult. It's an experience I'll cherish always.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE DISNEY CHARACTER AND WHY?
Tinkerbell! She wears her feelings on her face and I can completely relate to that. She has a hard time juggling all those feelings at once, she's sassy and adventurous, and at the heart of things she means well; even when she messes up.

Make sure you visit her Etsy store at
to check out all of her creations!!!

House of Blues Restaurant at Disney Springs, AMAZING FOOD!!

We recently had a chance to go check out the House of Blues restaurant in Disney Springs.  OH!  MY!  STARS!!!   This is seriously one of my new favorite places to eat ever!  Such a hidden gem that I rarely hear people talk about!  I had been to House of Blues before for different concerts, but had not ate there before, and honestly did not realize until within the last year there was even a restaurant there!  If you live local to Disney Springs, GO THERE!  If you are planning a Disney trip, GO THERE!  (FYI, if you are on the Dining Plan, your meal can count as one table service credit).
We had quite the spread as you can tell!   Here you go:

For Appetizers we had:
-VOO DOO SHRIMP (The house favorite, sautéed jumbo shrimp, simmered in an Abita® Amber beer reduction on top of housemade jalapeño cornbread).  OK, this was so amazingly scrumptious!  I was a little hesitant because I cant eat spicy stuff, but this had more of a kick to it then I would say spicy!
-STEAMIN' TOT MESS (Tater tots topped with tender carnitas, cheddar cheese sauce and pickled jalapeño)This seriously rocked my world!   We got it without jalepenos because we dont like them.   But this fused my love of friend home cooked food and my love for cuban food in a way I did not even think was possible!  This is probably one of my now favorite dishes!  I will be going there again and most likely getting this just as my meal!!!  I have been craving this since I left!

We also got the CAESAR SALAD (Chopped romaine leaves, sprinkled with Cotija cheese and tossed in our housemade Caesar dressing and served with crostini) which was very different then any Caesar salad I have had before!  They make their dressing there and it has a bit of a kick to it that is hard to describe but was very yummy!

For our Entrees we had:
-CRISPY CHICKEN BREAST (Pan roasted skin-on boneless breast with ham hock jus and a choice of two sides )This dish was amazing too!  It was a very home cooked meal type of taste!
-PULLED PORK SANDWICH (Slow smoked pulled pork, topped with smoked tomato BBQ sauce and homemade coleslaw, served on a brioche bun and fries ).  OK, this was another dish that rocked my world!  I love BBQ, but a lot of people dont get it right in my opinion.  This was AMAZING!  Wasnt super messy or super fatty!  PERFECT!!!!

For Sides we had:
-SWEET POTATO WAFFLE FRIES.  OK, so these were pretty good and I would definitely recommend them, but everything else I tasted won out my taste buds so I wasnt crazy over them.
-MAC & CHEESE.  Now this was SHUT THE FRONT DOOR AMAZING!  The best mac and cheese I have ever had in my life and I am not even kidding!!!   I dont know what kind of cheese they use, but it was so rich and creamy!   It did have some chives I believe and a crumb topping, which usually I am not a fan of, but they totally rocked it!  YOU MUST TRY THIS!!!!!!!!

For Dessert we had:
-ROOT BEER FLOAT  You can also get this with a Hard Alcoholic Root Beer which gives it a good kick!
-TRIPLE CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE (Three decadent layers of chocolate cheesecake on a cookie crust with seasonal berries) This was some of the best cheesecake I have had in a long time (and I tend to be a bit of a Cheesecake snob from visiting NYC so many times).  The chocolate was so rich and so amazing!  If you love chocolate and/or cheesecake, this is for you!
-BOURBON BREAD PUDDING (Baked with bananas and white chocolate, finished with a bourbon caramel sauce topped with fresh whipped cream).  Ok, I am a big fan of bread pudding when done right and this was AMAZING!  (I know, I know, I keep saying Amazing, but it all really was).  I could eat this every day!   It was so rich and yet so comforting too!

The restaurant has a very artsy feel on the inside which I happened to really enjoy!  You can also rent the spaces out for special events and weddings.
The Lighting Room has a ton of windows and you can close the curtain in the middle to create two separate spaces if necessary.
The Voo Doo Room is a much larger room with a BEAUTIFUL view of the lake at Disney Springs and overlooking some of the resorts.

I was in love with the chandeliers in the Voo Doo Room!
They also have an outdoor garden area that is very pretty.
