Halloween at Fort Wilderness is the place to be!

It is obvious how much I love Disney, but what I love even more is holidays at Disney!!!   Next to Christmas, Halloween is my favorite holiday!   Something I have always wanted to experience was Halloween at Fort Wilderness!   One of these years I will camp there that weekend, but one of the perks of living an hour away, is that this year, we are headed there for the day!   (So if you see a group of 6 dressed as Mickey & Minnie, Maleficent, Hawk Eye, Pocahontas, and Peter Pan, SAY HI!)

Fort Wilderness has so much to offer on a regular day, but on Halloween, that is the PLACE TO BE!   Most campgrounds tend to get really into Halloween all over the country, but Disney campers, that is a special group of people!!    Everyone there decorates there camp site bigger than Christmas!

This year the  festivities start with a Site Decorating Contest is on Thursday, October 29 from 8:00-10:00 pm.

Can I just say how much I am LOVING the Mickey Spider Web?!?!?

I WANT TO OWN THESE!!!!!!

On Friday, October 30 the fun continues!
4:30 pm-5:30 pm They will have a Pet Costume Parade

6:00pm-7:00pm They will have a Pumpkin Decorating Contest
9:00pm-12:00am They will have a Halloween Costume Beach Bash

On Saturday October 31 (This is the day I will be there!   They have the most fun!!!!!
From 5:00pm - 5:30pm, they have the Annual Golf Cart Parade!   All the campers really get into this!  Some small, some large.  They decorate their golf carts in so many different ways!   Here are some pictures I found and a video from last year's parade.

This one is my personal favorite

From 6:30pm-7:00pm they have a Halloween Awards Presentation at the Campfire Theater.   They will give awards out for Site Decorating, Pumpkin Carving, and the Golf Cart Parade at this time!

From 7:00pm-9:00pm, you can participate in Camp-or-Treat!   This is a super fun version of trick-or-treating, but around all the campsites.  YOU MUST sign up to participate at the Bike Barn by 5:00pm (registration opens up at 7:00am).   This is open to campers and day visitors.   If you are going for the day, you need to sign up early, because once they are at capacity they can not make any promises.

7:30pm, like all nights, they have the Campfire Lighting

8:00pm, They have the Campfire Sing-A-Long with Chip and Dale

8:40pm, they show a Halloween Movie on the big outside movie screen.  This year they will be showing "The Adventure of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" and "HalloweenTown"

9:00pm, the Electrical Water Pageant starts, which is Disney's nightly boat parade and can be viewed from the beach

10:00pm, you can view Magic Kingdom's fireworks from the beach

  1. WOW this looks so fun. I may have to look into spending a weekend here. A couple of campgrounds in the local area also do a lot over the Halloween weekend, I haven't checked them out either but I really should check out one of them.
