One thing all true Disney Fanatics can never get enough of is Mouse Ears! We would wear them every day, every where if we could get away with it! Because of that, I started THE GREAT MOUSE EAR SEARCH to help bring you some of the best Mouse Ear Designers out there! Well, I will always continue that search, but I have to tell you something, I think I found one of MY FAVORITE'S so far!!!!
People in my family tend to like some of the less popular Disney characters (because we are awesome like that!). I was on the hunt for some Lion King ears when I stumbled upon Timbysia Creation's Etsy Page. Once I contacted Timberline from there to inquire about this, I instantly fell in love with her! She is so passionate and driven about designing her ears! She immediately began working on customizing a pair for Lillie!
When she sent me the sketch and fabric swatches, I was literally blown away! Her designs were by far the most original and different I had seen! Her attention to detail is truly outstanding!!!!
I wish I had a picture of Lillie's face when she received these in the mail! You can see by these pictures, they are truly her favorite pair and the pair she always has to wear on any Disney trip!
I know we will most definitely be ordering more ears from her in the future! Who knows, I may just need to get her to design some bridal ears for me!!!!

HOW DID YOU GET INTO MAKING MOUSE EARS?
When I first started making mouse ears, I had just bought my first annual pass for Disneyland and I wanted awesome Baymax ears to wear because I fell in love with him and his personality. At first I was just going to buy a pair at Disney but sadly mouse ears for Baymax weren't designed. At that time I didn't know what etsy was (Lol now all the stuff I buy is from etsy or other handmade shops) so I didn't even think to look for a pair that somebody had made. I had remember seeing a DIY floral mouse ears on Pinterest and thought if it can be done with flowers I could make a baymax one :). My first ever paired made was my Baymax ears which were made from felt, paint, and a some regular glue. I've definitely have learn a lot since that pair. It was my family and some of my college friends who pushed me to start making more and eventually I learned how to do some basic sewing through YouTube and what I remember my grandma trying to teach me which lead to the ears today. My stepmom was the one who really pushed me to open up the shop and now she works with me to help with the business aspects of the shop. It's crazy how it all started cause of my love of Baymax.
DO YOU HAND MAKE EVERYTHING?
Most of the items on our ears, including some of the charms, are handmade. We do everything from sewing the fabric to making clay pieces and even covering the headbands. We cover the headbands instead of buying already finished ones in order for everyone to be able to pick the headband they want for their ears and have less restrictions about the choices for them.
Some of our mouse ears have already made charm pieces such as the enchanted rose charm on our Beauty and the Beast Ears. However lately I have been working more with polymer clay in order to create charms for the ears. It's one of my favorite parts of making ears but I'm still in the learning process with sculpting so some mouse ears still have jewelry charms. Even all of the painting is hand painted and we are hoping to eventually be able to create some of our fabric to have something even extra special.
WHAT IS YOUR MOST POPULAR SELLING ITEM?
Our most popular design would most likely me out BB-8 or Rey inspired mouse ears, excluding custom orders. I love making the BB-8 ones so much because Star Wars is one of my favorite Fandoms and is something I get to share with my dad. So it makes me so excited and happy that they were so well-perceived.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ITEM TO MAKE AND WHY?
I love to make custom ears the most. Custom orders always bring new challenges and a creative directions and they allow me to work more closely with the costumer (which we usually refer to as Mouse Ear Lover or a MEL lol). I work close with them to bring their ideas and favorite characters to life and it's just amazing to see how excited they are when they receive the final product. I especially love custom order (or mouse ears in general) that take a less traditional approach such as Harry Potter or Hobbit Mouse Ears because I truly believe mouse ears are a perfect way for anyone to show off their favorite fandom or character no matter its origin.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU COME UP WITH NEW DESIGNS?
I think up new ideas everyday :). I don't always get to execute all my new designs due to time and my work schedule but we try to release at least a few new designs each month so there is always something new to look forward to.
DO YOU HAVE ANY FUN OR TOUCHING CUSTOMER STORIES YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH US?
The funniest story I have so far was when I got to transform my Rey Mouse Ears design into a birthday special for an amazing girl. Her family wanted to surprise her and her siblings to a trip to Disneyworld and the Rey ears were the way they shared the surprise with her :). Even better the whole family is absolutely in love with the Star Wars franchise so to be apart of that family's passion and their celebration was amazing.
The mom even sent me a video of the special birthday surprise. The kids were told they were going to the dentist and while in the car they put clues throughout the car with hints about the special trip and surprise ears. That last hint lead to the bow containing the Rey Ears which was used to reveal that they were going to Disneyworld for her birthday. It was so cute and amazing to watch and I'm so happy the family including me in their special moment.
I'm currently an annual pass holder for Disneyland, CA so I try to go every time I can. Usually I go at least 3 times a week.
WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU HAVE TO DO EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU VISIT DISNEY?
Dole whips and the Sleeping Beauty Castle walk-through are a must for every Disney trip for me. I absolutely love dole whips and they are especially perfect during the summer. The Sleeping Beauty Castle Walk-Through is so gorgeous and is most of the time overlooked. It features the beautiful artwork of the classic film and is a fun environment for environment. It's like your are literally walking through the story of Aurora.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DISNEY MEMORY EVER?
Since I was a little girl I have had the honor to perform at Disneyland a few times as a guest performer with a cheerleading group. In high school I was able to become an instructor for this same group and share Disney Magic with all the young girls (age range 5-15) from our group. It is so magical to see their faces light up when they step out from backstage Disney on to Main Street U.S.A. What's even better is the girls get to enjoy Disneyland throughout the day and generally they would try to find the instructors in the park to pull them along on to rides. It's so amazing to be apart of those moments.
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE DISNEY CHARACTER AND WHY?
I think this is the hardest question of them lol. I would have to say Jim Hawkins from Treasure Planet is my favorite character of all. Jim makes so many character developments during this beautifully drawn film that it's hard not to feel drawn to this character and wish the best for him. He is adventurous, courageous, and is loyal and devoted to his single mother who works hard to provide for them. As well as he is a little rebellious lol. I feel like I can relate to this character and that I strive to be adventurous and make something of myself to make my family proud.
